Thanks to your valuable input and assistance, plans for the 37th Annual Conference on the Young Years are well underway! We are excited about this year’s line-up of keynote and featured speakers. Eric Litwin will start things off at the Pre-Conference on Thursday. That evening, we are thrilled to present Steve Spangler at the Special Welcome session for all conference participants. Friday’s schedule features a keynote presentation from author Jerry Pallotta, as well as presentations from Sharron Krull, Dr. Brian Faulker, Marsha Shigeyo Hawley, Dr. Brad Mears, Karen Hickman and Willy Wood. On Saturday, we’ll end the conference on a high note with a closing keynote address and featured seminar from Jack Hartmann, and Dr. Peggy North-Jones and Willy Wood will be our featured speakers.
We continue to need your help to ensure the smooth operation of the conference. There will be a Planning Committee dinner on Thursday, March 11, 2010 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in Parasol I to discuss assignments and other business. As a token of our appreciation, the pre-conference and conference registration fees and lodging at Tan-Tar-A for Thursday and Friday nights will be complimentary. We would appreciate you sharing a room if at all possible.
This year you are able to register for the conference and make your lodging requests on-line by visiting http://www.regonline.com/2010cyy. We will need you to submit your information as soon as possible, but no later than noon on February 1, 2010. If we have not heard from you by this date, we will assume that you do not want lodging. Any cancellations in room reservations must be made 72 hours in advance to Jamie Schieber of Custom Meeting Planners at (573) 445-2965 or by email at jamie@custommeetingplanners.com. Room reservations that are not cancelled within 72 hours will be billed directly to the assigned occupants by Tan-Tar-A Resort. The conference registration deadline is February 19, 2010. If you need to cancel your registration, you will need to submit a request in writing. The refund deadline is February 11, 2010. No refund requests will be granted after February 11, 2010, but substitutions will be allowed.
NOTE: Only a limited number of committee members are needed to help during the Pre-Conference on Thursday. If you are interested in helping with this, please indicate the time at which you would be available when requested during the on-line registration process. Once the needs have been determined, we will schedule committee members accordingly, and it may not be necessary to utilize everyone who has indicated the availability to work that day. Due to budgetary concerns this year, complimentary lodging for Wednesday night cannot be guaranteed for those who are scheduled to work on Thursday.
